The Valley - A Kingdom Now Ministry
Middletown Christian Church has launched a second campus in Valley Station that gives a radical welcome to everyone and reaches out to the community with the radical love of Jesus. It is a place where lives are being changed and disciples are being made.
With the prospect of closing its doors in September 2008, Valley Christian Church merged with Middletown Christian Church and became “The Valley – A Kingdom Now Ministry.” Under the leadership of Rev. Ed Huckleberry, the Holy Spirit is moving, along with lay missionaries from the Middletown campus and the homegrown leadership of The Valley. This proud and historic congregation is being transformed into a force for change in its community, spreading the good news of the gospel through powerful and relevant preaching, inspiring worship, and heartfelt outreach.
Since the official restart in March 2009, The Valley has steadily welcomed new members and has once again filled the baptistery to baptize people into the body of Christ. The Valley is located on Dixie Highway, a busy thoroughfare in a growing section of metro Louisville. It is an area in need of a church committed to doing Kingdom work.
The Valley is committed to being an externally-focused congregation that is reaching out to the single-parent families that make up over thirty percent of the families in the surrounding population. Local schools will know us as friends and varied human services organizations and community groups will be welcome in our doors.
The Learning Center at The Valley, sponsored by the church, will open its doors this September to local school children for tutoring in reading, homework assistance, and a little TLC. The vision and commitment of Kingdom Now people working with the help of God have helped to make this vision a reality in southwest Louisville.
