Children in Poverty
God has given us a powerful Kingdom Now vision …
To reduce the impact of poverty on the lives of children. Our efforts will be local and global. We will discover the conditions that lead to poverty and engage in hands-on experiences working among the poor. People will talk with excitement about our efforts and will sacrifice time and money to be involved. A fire will burn in our hearts for children living in poverty.
We call it our ChIP Initiative!
To focus our efforts, we have chosen EDUCATION as a primary means of breaking the cycle of poverty, recognizing the importance of giving young people a better chance to earn a living wage. We are working with partners now and identifying opportunities for you to get involved. Our efforts were launched with:
- A Backpack Drive that placed nearly 800 backpacks and school supplies in the hands of children in need throughout this community.
- A card-writing effort to mail over 500 notes of support and encouragement to educators in local schools in the Middletown and Valley Station areas.
