Stephen Ministers are lay leaders of the church who have received 50 hours of extensive training in pastoral care. They have committed to provide one-on-one confidential Christian support and care for our congregation and community by making God’s Kingdom Now a reality in your life. A Stephen Minister will walk with you through your journey when you are experiencing difficulty in your life. Stephen Ministers have been commissioned by Middletown Christian Church and they will meet with you faithfully to listen, pray, support and encourage you for as long as there is a need. You do not have to bear life’s burdens alone.

If you would like to meet with a  Stpehen Minister, please contact Paul Tche, Grow Minister, at 245-9793 or ptche@middletownchristian.org.

Caring for people during times of personal loss is an important part of our ministry at MCC. Periodic grief workshops are offered to provide education, information and support for members of our congregation and community who are traveling the grief journey. Workshop leaders will help those who are hurting move from the intellectual side of their grief to the feeling side so they can once again embrace their faith. Participants receive support and encouragement as they develop their new identity and put purpose and meaning back into their lives. Workshops are scheduled in March, May and October.

If you are interested in participating in these workshops or are interested in being a part of the Grief Ministry Team, please contact the Ministry Leaders.

College Connection is a ministry that helps students remain “connected” to what’s going on at MCC while they are away (or really busy) at college. Each college student is paired with an adult member of MCC as a sponsor. Sponsors stay “connected” with their students throughout the year by sending cares, e-mails, “care packages” etc. Individuals, small groups and Sunday school classes can serve as sponsors.
